Damages have been recovered on behalf of a man who was left with serious orthopaedic injuries following a road traffic accident.
The man was travelling with his wife and a friend when another vehicle lost control and crossed on to his side of the road causing a collision between the two vehicles injuring our client and his wife.
As a result of the accident the man suffered multiple injuries including fractures to his left femur, left ankle, left wrist, right hip and the neck of both fibulas in his lower legs. He sustained a soft tissue injury to his left knee and skin loss to his right leg, which required a skin flap and skin grafting.
He had an external fixator fixed to his left wrist, a frame round his left ankle and nails inserted into his left femur. He underwent further surgery to insert metalwork into his right hip and right ankle and he developed traumatic osteoarthritis in the right hip which will need replacing and in the left ankle. The man then went on to suffer infection in the metalwork in his right ankle requiring further surgery
As a result of his injuries he was forced to take time off work and had to turn down a new job opportunity.
With thanks to Associate Solicitor Rebecca Cherry, the man was able to secure a six figure settlement in compensation for his losses and his pain and suffering.
