Irwin Mitchell’s specialist personal injury team has helped a man claim compensation after suffering severe facial injuries from a fall.
In January 2010, our client was walking along a pavement. He did not notice that further along the pavement, there was an area of raised soil. Our client tripped over this raised area and fell face down on to the pavement.
As a result of the fall, the man sustained a severe laceration to his top lip, damage to two upper front teeth, a grazed chin, and a soft tissue injury to his right wrist. He developed pain in his neck radiating into the right shoulder and later developed a problem with his right eye.
Our client had to take three months off work due to the severe nature of his injuries.
He decided to contact Irwin Mitchell’s specialist personal injury team and one of our experienced solicitors, Kerry Hadley, was able to deal with his claim.
The defendants admitted liability and after some negotiations, Kerry was able to secure £16,000 in compensation for the client in an out-of-court settlement.
