Irwin Mitchell's specialist Personal Injury Team has secured compensation for a man injured when he tripped over a tree root in the pavement.
Our client, a 28 year old man, was walking along a Sheffield pavement when he tripped over a tree root which was protruding from the ground. He fell forwards and put his hands out to break his fall and sustained an injury to his left wrist.
He was able to get up without assistance and went home. Later that evening he began suffering increasing pain in his left wrist. The following morning he went to the minor injuries unit where he was x-rayed. He was informed that he had sustained a fracture to his left wrist and his wrist was put in a plaster cast for six weeks.
Irwin Mitchell brought a claim against the Defendants in January 2011; within three months they admitted liability and subsequently compensation of £3,000 was agreed.
