An Irwin Mitchell client has received £126,800 in compensation following injuries sustained in a car crash. Our client was injured when travelling as a back seat passenger in a taxi, which was hit by a vehicle that was being chased by the police. There was no fault or issue with the police chase.
In addition to his physical injuries including soft tissue injuries and an injury to his jaw, our client also sustained a mild head injury. The effects of the head injury were subtle; however, they affected his performance in ongoing professional examinations. This curtailed his career plans and subsequently had an impact on our client’s career prospects.
Cathryn Godfrey, a lawyer in Irwin Mitchell’s expert serious injury team represented the client and commented that the compensation awarded covered not only the injuries sustained, but also his expenses incurred as a consequence of the accident. In addition, the sum reflects the fact that our clients earning potential in the future has been reduced as a consequence of the injury that he sustained.
