A 58 year old man from Derbyshire has received a four figure sum in respect of his claim for Industrial Deafness, Tinnitus.
Mr X worked for his local Borough Council. During the course of his employment he was exposed to excessive levels of noise from jigger picks, vibrating rollers, compressors, whacker plates and cement trucks through his work which involved digging up and repairing roadways, pavements and sewer pipes.
No ear protection was provided throughout this employment.
This gentleman is now required to wear hearing aids which have been advanced by a period of four to five years due to his exposure to noise. Due to the long-term damage caused, a four figure sum was secured in an out of court settlement.
