Site Manager Receives Compensation After Falling Into Unmarked Manhole

Our Accident at Works Team recently helped a man to claim compensation after he was injured at work.

Our client was employed as a Site/Contract Manager.  Our client entered a site.  Most of the floor of the unit was covered with a concrete slab but to the right there was an area that had not been finished and that area had been used for storage.

Our client walked onto the unfinished area and stepped on a board.  Unbeknown to our client the board was covering a manhole and as he stepped onto the board it gave way and he fell down into the manhole striking his left hand side and base of his back on some bricks that were around the edge of the manhole.

Due to the injury our client had to have time off work.

Liability was admitted by the Defendant in this case.

Following the incident, he contacted our Works Accident Team to discuss making a compensation claim.  With our assistance he received £3,813.51 in compensation.
