Irwin Mitchell has successfully secured compensation for David Perry from Telford who was injured when at work on a building site. David fell from a platform while plastering. He caught his foot on dangerous exposed pipe work and when he fell his plastering trowel penetrated his hand. Irwin Mitchell secured over £100,000 in compensation in an out of court settlement.
Ann Houghton, solicitor in the Serious Injury team in the Birmingham Irwin Mitchell office, who represented David commented “David was working as a plasterer at the time of his accident but because of the severity of the hand injury he suffered as a result of the accident he was unable to ever go back to plastering work. David was determined to find alternative employment and undertook considerable study and retraining in order to go into work in further education. Unfortunately, tutoring will not provide as good an income he would have had from the plastering career he had built over many years and so the compensation we secured for David will provide financial security for his future.”
David said “I am very thankful to Irwin Mitchell for their considerable help in securing a very good financial settlement for me. Ann Houghton along with Toni Knott have been wonderfully supportive, very informative, professional and very thoughtful and caring towards me at all times and for that I am very grateful.”
