Woman Fractures Femur In Supermarket Fall

Woman Fractures Femur In Supermarket Fall

Our Sheffield personal injury specialists helped a woman to claim compensation after she was injured in an accident in a supermarket.

Our client was shopping in Morrisons when she slipped on some broccoli in the fruit and veg aisle. There were no mats on the floor and our client fractured her left femur in the fall. She was kept in hospital for more than a week and suffered ongoing pain. She also faced the prospect of potentially permanent disability as a result of leg shortening.

We helped our client to make a claim against the supermarket chain, who denied that there was any broccoli on the floor and claimed that even if there were then they could have done nothing to avoid the accident as the floor was regularly checked. Morrisons also claimed that staff were appropriately trained to clear up spillages.

We issued court proceedings and our client received £12,500 in an out of court settlement, plus the payment of her costs.

Our serious injury solicitors could help you claim compensation if you have suffered a fracture or broken bone as the result of an accident. See our Broken Bone Or Fracture Claims page for more information.
