Damages Award for Brain Injured Hong Kong Woman

Damages Award for Brain Injured Hong Kong Woman

Our client was a young doctor who sustained a serious brain injury when a bus collided with her car in Cambridge. She was on her way home having completed a shift as a Registrar Anaesthetist at Addenbrookes hospital. The collision took place at a traffic light controlled crossroads junction.

Our client was originally from Hong Kong and returned there shortly after the accident to be cared for by her family. Previous solicitors had turned the case down.

Stephen Nye, Partner at our Birmingham office dealt with the case and commented;  "Our client sustained devastating injuries in this accident and she has lost out on what was a very promising medical career. She has very substantial care needs arising from her injuries.

The issue in the case was that it was thought that the driver of the bus had been distracted by talking to a passenger and had misread the traffic lights as a result, driving into our client who was proceeding correctly.

We were able to secure a substantial out of Court settlement on her behalf, which will help provide for her future care and treatment needs".
