Mr S, from Huddersfield worked as an electrical tester for 20 years. He was exposed to excessive levels of noise from testing motors, including Rolls Royce aeroplane motors.
In recent years, Mr S noticed a buzzing noise in his ears and difficulty hearing his friends and family, as well as not being able to hear the telephone ring.
He contacted Irwin Mitchell in 2010 to pursue a claim for compensation for noise induced hearing loss against his former employers and his claim recently settled for a four figure sum.
Louise Scott, a solicitor from our Birmingham office said: “I am delighted with the result, this client was a victim of injury through no fault of his own and as a result of someone else’s negligence.”
If you or a loved one has suffered from hearing damage such as acoustic shock, tinnitus, and noise-induced hearing loss caused by conditions at work our solicitors could help you claim compensation. See our Industrial Disease Claims page for more information.
