The Leeds Personal Injury team represented a lady who was injured whilst she was a pedestrian.
Our client sustained a fracture to her right leg which required surgical reconstruction and she had to wear an ilizaroz frame for 6 months. The injuries she sustained will have a long term effect on her level of mobility and ability to continue her outdoor activities.
During the course of the claim we were able to secure interim payments for our client; these were used to fund physiotherapy treatment and equipment she required. Our client received £125,000.00; this included compensation for past loss of earnings, travel expenses and medication costs and also future loss of earnings, adaptations to her house and future treatment costs.
Cathryn Godfrey, Associate Solicitor for Personal Injury in Leeds said “Our client suffered significant pain and discomfort, and financial loss, as a result of this accident. The injuries she sustained are going to have a significant impact on her enjoyment and quality of life into the future. No amount of money can make up for the restrictions she now faces as a result of this accident but the compensation will allow our client to make the adaptations to her property which are now needed as a consequence of the injuries she sustained. She was also able to obtain monies to assist with rehabilitation treatment costs during her claim.”
