The Armed Forces Compensation Claims Team at Irwin Mitchell recently secured £22,500 in compensation for our client after he collapsed during a military fitness test whilst serving in Cyprus.
Our Military client had been instructed to take part in a variety of fitness tests over three successive days and was required to complete these despite suffering from spells of dizziness and exhaustion.
In the final fitness test our client was required to complete an 8 mile march carrying 45 lbs and collapsed approximately 800 metres from the finishing line. He was ordered to continue and collapsed for a second time which led to him being rushed to hospital where he stayed for four days as a result of suffering from severe heat stroke leading to permanent liver and kidney problems.
This award of compensation for military injury reflects the injuries sustained at both the time of the accident as well as the future taking into account his additional permanent injuries.
If you've been injured in a Military Training Accident you might be entitled to claim Military Compensation.
