The Irwin Mitchell Armed Forces Compensation Claim Team successfully secured an out of Court settlement for £86,000 for a member of the armed forces who sustained injuries to his neck and head after undertaking a gymnastics rehearsal.
X-rays show that our Armed Forces client had suffered a break to a bone in his neck which meant that he had to be fitted with a metal halo in order to keep his head stable. After given drugs during the treatment of the pain, our client suffered a reaction which resulted in hallucinations.
At the time of the accident our Client was told to undertake the gymnastics rehearsals prior to the passing out parade that he was to attend. Despite having little gymnastic experience, our client was expected to attempt a forward somersault after jumping off a trampette.
The award of Military compensation reflects the damages for our client’s pain and suffering as well as his narrowing of career opportunities.
