Our client suffered serious injuries following an accident in Holland. In December 2000 he was working in Holland, he travelled home from work by bus as he got off the bus he was hit by a car sustaining serious injuries.
He fractured his left ankle, right femur and pelvis and suffered a very serious brain injury leaving him in a permanent vegetative state and permanently confined to a wheelchair. He is unable to communicate or do anything for himself and requires round the clock care and assistance.
His family approached Irwin Mitchell to help them get the compensation that he needed.
Liability was admitted and over a million pounds was awarded in an out of Court settlement agreed with the Dutch insurer which has allowed his parents to buy a property closer to the hospital so that they can take him out of the hospital for weekends.
We considered every aspect of his needs including housing, rehabilitation needs like physiotherapy and occupational therapy and continue to support his family.
Liability was admitted in full and following discussions with the Defendant's insurers an agreement was reached in respect of damages in this extremely complex claim.
