An 88-year-old woman received £34,000 compensation after being injured in an accident at her local supermarket.
Our client was riding her mobility scooter down a path leading to a car park at her local supermarket when a wheel caught in a pothole. The scooter overturned and our client was thrown out.
As a result of the accident, she suffered a broken hip which needed surgery. The injuries have left her with permanent mobility difficulties and she now needs help and assistance from her family.
The supermarket accepted liability for the accident at an early stage. However, due to the severity of the woman's injuries, settlement of the case had to be delayed.
The case was settled by Helen Price of Irwin Mitchell's Public Liability Team.
