Our client worked in the engineering industry all of his working life. His job involved the use of vibratory tools such as needle guns and grinders. As a result, he developed tingling, numbness and blanching (whiteness) of the fingers known as Vibration White Finger.
Our high level of experience with Vibration White Finger claims was particularly important in this case, as it was more complicated than most.
Firstly, our client also suffered from a vascular disease unrelated to vibration exposure, making the case for VWF less clearcut.
Secondly, one of our client's employers were no longer in business, meaning we had to trace insurance records from that time. This can cause obstacles to arise and delays during the claim.
Despite these complications, we were able to negotiate an out of Court settlement from two former employers of £4,000.
If you or a loved one has suffered from repetitive strain injuries, such as bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar neuropathy and vibration white finger caused by conditions at work, our solicitors could help you claim compensation. See our Industrial Disease Claims page for more information.
