IM Mock Trial - The Role of an Intermediary

Irwin Mitchell would like to invite you to their annual Mock Trial which this year showcases the role of an Intermediary working with vulnerable clients in a Courtroom setting.

We will be looking at how the Intermediary works with the client to assess their capacity to deal with questions at trial and identifies how best to communicate with the client in order to improve the quality, completeness and accuracy of their evidence at trial.  The role of an Intermediary is entirely impartial; they are a servant of the court, providing assistance to facilitate communication before trial and during cross examination and advising how this can best be achieved.

The Mock Trial is likely to be of interest to all those working in healthcare with vulnerable clients and who have not seen the role of an Intermediary supporting such claimants. There will also be time for an interactive question and answers session with Counsel and the Intermediary at the end of the Mock Trial.

We are fortunate to have senior barristers from Old Square Chambers, London who will be conducting the Trial and also Louise Sheffield, Active Case Management who is a brain injury case manager and registered Intermediary.

We hope you can join us for this event. Please RSVP by 21 August by contacting Amy Coates
