For the third year running, we are once again delighted to be sponsoring the Spinal Injuries Association Rebuilding Lives after Spinal Cord Injury Awards. These awards recognise the commitment and achievements of individuals with spinal cord injuries, and those who work with them, both in the Spinal Injury Centres and in the wider community.
This year many of the award categories have changed in order to honour individuals who have been successful in various disciplines that promote and enable rehabilitation. As rehabilitation is one of Irwin Mitchell’s core principles we are delighted that the SIA has chosen to recognise success in this field.
There are 16 awards in total, seven of which are designated for spinal cord injured individuals. These include awards for sport and recreation, creative arts and vocation and employment; along with inspirational achievement awards and a life-time achievement award. In the broader category there are awards for leadership, innovation and research, health and wellbeing, community star and inspirational carer.
For a full list of the awards please go to the SIA website www.spinal.co.uk where you will also find the nomination form. The nomination period runs until 28 February 2015. The awards ceremony will be taking place on 4 June 2015 at the Hilton, Metropole, Birmingham.
