Stephanie Denton, Editor of The Post Magazine, Tony Stanger - Technical Claims Manager - Large Loss and Reinsurance, Ageas Insurance Limited and Jonathan Betts, Partner, Irwin Mitchell
Fifth time winners of the award, this win recognised the work of Serious Injury Partner Jonathan Betts and his team when they worked on a complex case involving Ageas Insurance Limited.
The award recognised Irwin Mitchell’s collaborative approach with defendant insurer Ageas, and because the client’s personal situation was complicated, Jonathan and his team worked closely with their Public Law colleagues to help protect our client’s welfare.
When approving the settlement, Mrs Justice Swift praised this “really excellent example of constructive cooperation in order to reach a most imaginative solution to a very problematic case.”
On the day head judge and editor of The Post Magazine, Stephanie Denton said; “The Rehabilitation First Judges found themselves in an unusual situation this year when judging the Rehabilitation Initiative of the Year - Claimant Solicitor category. There was one outstanding entry which the judges felt deserved to be recognised but didn’t fit the traditional claimant solicitor category.
In fact it went well beyond this and showed a truly collaborative approach between an insurance firm and a claimant solicitor. For this reason the judges decided to change the award this year to an Insurer and Solicitor Collaboration of the Year award and awarded it to Ageas and Irwin Mitchell.”
