Summer 2012

Welcome to the summer edition of our Sheffield office newsletter.

In this edition, as Olympic fever takes its grip on the nation, Danny Revitt outlines some of the penalties landlords could face, trying to cash in on some extra money.

We’re also delighted to announce our sponsorship of MADE: The Entrepreneur Festival, taking place in September – a definite date for your diary! This year’s theme is about putting the ‘Great’ back into Britain; hopefully building on Britain’s sporting success in July and August.

From feedback received in our Spring edition, we know that articles linked to your personal lives are popular.  So in this edition, we have included two articles covering changes to inheritance tax (for the good!) and the seemingly unromantic but increasingly important world of pre-nups.

Following on from the buy-to-let article in the Spring edition, we have also included a piece on choosing your solicitor carefully when buying or selling a residential property.  You might comment that we would say that; but I urge you to read the article to find out why.
