Focus on Employment| Irwin Mitchell | Leeds office charity of the year

Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office is proud to support Leeds Mind as its charity of the year 2016.

Leeds Mind is an independent charity affiliated with the national charity, Mind. Leeds Mind’s mission is to enable people with mental health difficulties to flourish. They provide support and advice to the people of Leeds and also campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

Jane Wright, regional managing partner at Irwin Mitchell, said: “We are very pleased to be supporting Leeds Mind as our charity of the year and are looking forward to hosting plenty of our fundraising activities throughout the year to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.

“Our employees are very supportive of the charities we get involved with and Irwin Mitchell in Leeds is passionate about supporting and helping the local community. We have already kickstarted our fundraising for Leeds Mind and we have lots of events planned in the coming months to raise as much money as possible for the charity.”

Helen Kemp, Chief Executive of Leeds Mind, commented: “We are very excited about working with the team at Irwin Mitchell in Leeds over the coming year and are delighted they chose us as their charity of the year. Without support from the local community and companies such as Irwin Mitchell, we would not be able to continue to offer our specialist services to people with mental health difficulties so we are very grateful for their support.”

Employees at Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds office are asked to nominate a local charity to support each year and staff hold a series of fundraising events to support the chosen charity. Last year we supported The Sick Children’s Trust’s Eckersley House and raised a fantastic total of £22,000 which will go towards supporting the Yorkshire-based charity’s ‘Home from Home’, which provides vital accommodation for families when their children need to stay in hospital for treatment.
