Mr Corr slipped at work on a staircase leading from the cellar whilst carrying a 14 pound gas cylinder causing a possible minor fracture to his vertebra, and soft tissue damage which lead to him having 3 months off work and his ability to participate in sports was restricted.

It was discovered that the staircase leading from the cellar was wet and slippery. The stairs had no grips or anti slip surface with no railings. The steps were also different distances apart.

A back injury claim was issued and served against The BOC Group PLC in Newcastle upon Tyne County Court.

Mr Corr recieved £7,000 in compensation for his back injury at work.
