Asbestosis Compensation Case: Hutton v J F Finnegan Limited

Asbestosis compensation

We represented Mr Hutton in a claim against J F Finnegan Limited. Mr Hutton worked as an apprentice and then qualified joiner at the company’s workshops on Ecclesall Road in Sheffield in the 1950s and 1960s. Mr Hutton was exposed to asbestos from boards which he cut up to form soffits, boxing in and fireproofing.

Mr Hutton was diagnosed as suffering from mild asbestosis and pleural plaques as a result of his exposure. He suffered from a minimal respiratory disability because of his asbestosis. We issued a court claim on Mr Hutton’s behalf and were able successfully to conclude his claim, by negotiation, prior to trial. We obtained a significant five figure sum in full and final settlement of the claim.
