Vibration White Finger (VWF) Case Studies

Vibration White Finger claim - construction worker

IM represented Mr L in his claim against his three former construction industry employer’s for Vibration White Finger. Mr L worked for over 30 years in the construction trade having worked from the 1960’s to 2003.

It was necessary to show that his employers had exposed him to a high level of vibration as a result of using vibrating pokers, jack hammers and stihl saws.

The case ultimately settled out of Court for £6,000.00.

VWF compensation for Utilities Worker

Mr P pursued his one former and current employer for damages for Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS). As a result of his HAVS Mr P was unable to continue with his employment as a pipe layer and suffered a loss of earnings as a result of his HAVS. Mr P was exposed to vibration from a variety of tools which included jigger picks, wacker plates and stihl saws.

IM were able to negotiate an out of Court settlement for £50,000.00.

VWF legal action in the Engineering Industry

Mr P worked in the engineering industry all of his working life. His job involved the use of vibratory tools such as needle guns and grinders. He developed tingling, numbness and blanching (whiteness) of the fingers. His claim was complicated by the fact that he suffered from a vascular disease unrelated to vibration exposure.

IM were able to negotiate an out of Court settlement from two former employers of £4,000.00.

Despite one of his employers no longer being in business IM were able to trace the insurers of the company to secure the award on Mr P’s behalf.
