Client A was working as part of a team of men boarding out the back of a large cinema screen with sound boarding. The area behind the screen was covered by a scaffolding walkway. There was limited lighting. The scaffold walkway had a number of gaps, some of approximately 1 foot wide. The claimant was carrying a piece of board along the walkway. He stumbled as his foot went into one of the smaller gaps in the walkway and fell twisting his knee causing permanent injury. The case was successfully pursued and damages recovered for him including amounts in respect of the injury itself but also related financial losses including loss of earnings.
Compensation for slip on ice at work
Client B received an out-of-Court settlement of £3,400 following a fall down stairs on her way to work at a large shopping centre. She slipped as a result of ice which had not been cleared prior to her arrival and fractured her foot. She was unable to return to work for a umber of weeks prior to resolution of the fracture although she continued to have some occasional discomfort in that foot.
