Noise Induced Hearing Loss - Lack of Ear Protection
Successful claim for noise induced hearing loss 40 years after employment had ended
Claimant worked as a Doffer in a textile mill for Eckersleys Limited and was exposed to excessive noise without ear protection between 1964-1967. The noise was predominantly from textile machinery, and after our claimant noticed her hearing loss getting progressively worse, she pursued a claim for noise induced hearing loss with our specialist solicitors.
The claim settled quickly without admission of liability. Our client received £4000 in compensation.
Mark Allen, a leading industrial hearing loss solicitor said: "I am pleased that my client has been compensated for her hearing loss by her former employer Eckersleys. The company went out of business many years ago however we were able to trace the insurers of the company and I am pleased that my client has been compensated for her hearing difficulties notwithstanding her exposure to noise ended over 40 years ago."
