MoD Armed Forces - Tinnitus claim

Mr M who was aged 15 at the time of the incident was participating in a combined cadet force exercise as part of the curriculum at his private school.

The exercise involved a role play ambush. Mr M was not provided with ear protection and as a result of his exposure to gun fire on the night of the exercise he developed a buzzing type of sound in his ears, a condition commonly known as Tinnitus. This affected his ability to concentrate and often kept him awake at night.

The Tinnitus condition was permanent but did improve over time.

IM were able to negotiation an admission of liability from the MOD and an out of Court settlement of £8,000.00.

If you or someone you know has a claim, please visit our Armed Forces section, or for general loss of hearing or Tinnitus claims, visit our workplace illness section.
