Doncaster Man Receives Compensation after Suffering Hand Injury at Work

Hand injury at work case

A Doncaster man has received £6000 compensation after suffering a hand injury at work.

Mr A had worked as a Tooling Technician for Cooper Lighting & Security for 12 years when the incident happened.

Mr A was using the milling machine to profile and shape metal when a spring failed causing the handle to swing round and strike him on the hand.

Mr A visited his GP after a lump developed on his finger which was getting worse and causing him pain. He was referred to hospital where he underwent an operation and the lump was found to be a swollen nerve.

Following the operation, Mr A needed 2½ weeks off work and still has a dull ache in his finger.

His claim was settled by Sally Rissbrook of Irwin Mitchell after liability was admitted.
