Compensation for Man After Fracturing Elbow in Accident at Work


Elbow fracture at work

A man has received £20,000 compensation after he was injured in an work accident.

Mr X was testing some equipment on a production line in September 2006, when the equipment got stuck. In order to free it, he had to open the valve at the end of the line. The equipment that had been stuck then flew out and caused a metal lid to open that struck our Mr X’s arm at force.

As a result of the accident, Mr X sustained an open fracture to the elbow which required surgery.

The claim was settled by Claire Newstead of Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Work Accident Team, based in Leeds.
