Dental Negligence Claim leads to Compensation for Woman

Dental negligence compensation case

A Chesterfield woman has received £5,250 compensation following dental negligence when her dentist removed the wrong tooth in a routine procedure.

Katie Marshall visited her dentist, Christian Holden & Associates in Chesterfield, in February 2007 in order to have a wisdom tooth removed. However, a healthy molar tooth was removed instead.

Her claim was settled by Zoe Brodrick of Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Medical Negligence team.

She said, “Had Miss Marshall received the appropriate dental treatment and had the correct tooth been extracted this would have avoided unnecessary pain and suffering.

"As a result of the error, Miss Marshall has been left with an unsightly gap in her teeth and the prospect of undergoing further treatment."
