Our client was working in a steel works when he was hit by a 1000°C metal bar on the shoulder. The bar caused his clothes to ignite; leaving our client with painful deep burn injuries. It took months for the wounds to fully heal and our client has been left with permanent obvious scarring from the burns.

The Defendants did not have sufficient regard for the safety of their employees by ensuring that work equipment was properly running and well maintained and providing adequate training.

The case settled for £5000 in injury compensation.
