Compensation for woman after slip in work accident
Slip at Work
09/06/2008
A woman has received £6000 in compensation after she was injured in a slip whilst at work.
Ms X worked at a Building Society. The cleaners had polished the laminate flooring and left a residue on the floor which caused her to slip. As a result, Ms X injured her lower back, sprained her knee and injured her arm.
The claim was settled by Sally Rissbrook of Irwin Mitchell’s specialist Accident at Work team, who deal with all types of industrial accidents including slips at work, defective equipment, and burn injuries at work.
She said, "Ms X's employer should either have used signs to warn people of the dangers or ensured that the residue was not left causing the floor to be slippery.
"The accident could quite easily have been avoided."
