Compensation for Man After Accident at Work

Accident at Work

05/06/2008

A man has received £4000 in compensation after he was injured at work when the lift he was in fell.

Mr X entered the lift whilst working on a building site. He heard a bang and the cable come loose before the lift fell several floors.

As a result of the accident, Mr X suffered injuries to his back as well as psychological injuries.

His claim was settled by Sally Rissbrook of Irwin Mitchell's specialist Work Accidents team who deal with all industrial accidents including claims involving faulty machinery.

She said, "The lift was not maintained in an efficient working order.

"It was known to be faulty having missed floors or stopped off line before the accident. Had the lift fallen further, the injuries in this case could have been much worse!"
