Broken kerbstone caused accident at work

The client, who worked for First South Yorkshire ltd, suffered the accident at work when she was walking along designated footpath at bus depot and her ankle went over the edge of a broken kerbstone.

She suffered a broken bone in her ankle, requiring plaster treatment and physiotherapy.

Liability was admitted but court proceedings were pursued for a compensation settlement.

The case settled shortly after for £9,800 in compensation.

Work accident solicitor commented: "Employers need to ensure that they have systems for inspecting, maintaining and repairing all designated footpaths to reduce the risks of accidents at work."
