A man has received nearly £5,500 in compensation after being injured in a bicycle accident.

Mr X, from Sheffield, was knocked from his bicycle after a car pulled out from a minor road and into his path in January 2007.

He sustained injuries to his neck, and upper and lower back in the accident.

His compensation claim was settled by Nicola Meese, accident solicitor of Irwin Mitchell.

She said, “It is important for all road users to be vigilant when pulling out onto roads.

"Drivers should also pay extra attention for cyclists who are harder to spot."
