Leading Leeds law firm Irwin Mitchell is celebrating following the release of this year’s Legal 500 results which consolidate its position as the region’s largest firm.
The firm achieved seven top tier accolades in the Legal 500’s Yorkshire rankings, particularly for its work with clients in the personal injury, clinical negligence, professional negligence and crime, fraud & licensing categories.
The Legal 500 is an independent annual review of all of the UK legal services providers.
These results for Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds team follow the successful expansion into new Wellington Place offices and come as the firm looks to celebrate its fifteenth anniversary in Leeds this October.
Irwin Mitchell’s Leeds personal injury team, led by the region’s leading spinal injuries specialist Jane Wright, was picked out as having another impressive year of results, maintaining its standing as the market leader in this specialism.
The clinical negligence team was highly praised for its superb standard of work with one member in particular, Rachelle Mahapatra’s efforts involving large dependency, claims cited as being particularly impressive.
Irwin Mitchell Leeds was also singled out for its strong practices in corporate and commercial law, dispute and resolution law, family and public sector work.
Kevin Cunningham and his corporate and commercial colleagues in Leeds have had great success in negotiating and managing multi million pound deals this year including the management buyout of new client Encore Direct Group and Endless.
Nick Bates is highly recommended for his work within a strong dispute resolution team that deals with high volumes of shareholder and partnership disputes and impressive levels of litigation.
Irwin Mitchell’s regional managing partner, David Knaggs, said: “These results confirm the hard work and dedication of all of our staff and the firm is thrilled to be recognised so well in such a prestigious review.
"With a move to offices and a recent appointment to the legal services panel of Leeds City Council following our excellent track record in public sector work, 2008 has seen excellent development for us.
"The best aspect is that we have ranked highly not only for the incredible results we get our clients, but also because the core values we hold in our approach to work. The Legal 500 noted our extensive support services and our dedicated approach to client care that really sets us apart in the market."
