Irwin Mitchell's Networking Skills Are Cooking

Sheffield Ladies Networking Event

01/11/2007

More than 50 women from across Sheffield came together this month to take part in the most recent Ladies Networking Event hosted by Irwin Mitchell.

Julie Atkinson, Jane Livingstone and Sarah Brittain, Solicitors from law firm Irwin Mitchell, head up the organisation of the Ladies Networking Events, creating the opportunity for Yorkshire based business women to meet each other.

The guests, who were treated to a champagne reception, were also enjoyed a cooking demonstration from The Maynard's head chef Marcus Jefford, before being encouraged to recreate the dishes themselves.

Jane commented: "We wanted to bring people together in a friendly, relaxed environment. The cooking class was a great way to entertain our guests, and break the ice.

"We were all asked to prepare a rather tricky tiramisu; everyone gave it a go resulting in some surprisingly professional-looking puddings."

Sarah added: "It was a great opportunity for women to build relationships with other women in a business capacity, and we were also able to raise a total of £400 for the South Yorkshire Flood Disaster Relief Fund.

"We are now looking forward to the next ladies networking event, a wine tasting which takes place at our Riverside Offices in Sheffield on November 29."
