A Cracking Donation For An Egg-Cellent Easter
South Yorkshire Business Charity Work
20/03/2008
With a spring in their step, businesses across South Yorkshire have joined forces to help give children at the Bluebellwood Hospice, Barnardos Junction Project in Rotherham and the NSPCC George Street Drop in Centre in Sheffield an egg-cellent Easter by collecting eggs.
The annual initiative is coordinated by JCI Sheffield (Junior Chamber International); an organisation designed to provide the opportunity for young people to develop the leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and fellowship necessary to create positive change, and has successfully collected more than 350 Easter eggs this year, smashing its target of 150.
With more than enough to go around, each chosen charity received 50 eggs, the rest were given to other children’s charities and groups throughout the region.
Jane Livingstone from Sheffield based law firm Irwin Mitchell said: "We have been egg-static with the response this year from members of the firm who have given generously. More than 200 eggs were collected by Irwin Mitchell employees to help everyone have a great Easter."
Lucinda White, President of the JCI Sheffield added: "Once again the support from the local businesses has been tremendous and our thanks go to everyone who donated eggs again this year."
