Two school children in Sheffield have been rewarded by local law firm Irwin Mitchell thanks to their outstanding school attendance rates.

As a prize for having 100 per cent attendance records in the autumn term, Aneaka Lewis aged 9 and Erona Rexhepi aged 6 from Emmaus Primary School, Southend Road, were given new bikes and safety equipment.

David Urpeth, a Partner at the firm which funded the special prizes said: "At Irwin Mitchell we believe that sponsoring the attendance initiative has proved a great way of encouraging kids to stay motivated at school.

"We hope that the pupils enjoy their new bikes. It's a reward they truly deserve!"

Huw Thomas, Headteacher at the school, said: "Emmaus is a new educational formed from two established schools, St John's and St Oswald's; the attendance incentive scheme has been a great success with pupils and teachers alike. We are delighted that Irwin Mitchell once again agreed to support this initiative."
