Staff from law firm Irwin Mitchell and professional services firm KPMG's Yorkshire offices swapped pinstripes for paint brushes in a bid to transform two therapy rooms for Barnardo's in Horsforth, West Yorkshire.
Twenty lawyers and financiers volunteered to spend the day at Irwin Mitchell's chosen charity, helping the centre by painting the children's activity room and a relaxing therapy room, and tidying up the garden. Barnardo's runs a children’s rights service from the premises.
Co-organiser Nicole da Silva from Irwin Mitchell's commercial litigation team said: "The Children's Rights Service means that Barnardo's can offer anyone under 21 a place to go and talk about their rights, ensure they are treated fairly and help them use the complaints service if they need to.
"As Barnardo's is the firm's charity of the year we thought this was the perfect opportunity to support them by giving their therapy rooms a much-needed makeover. We had great fun on the day with everyone mucking in to help paint as well as having an opportunity to catch up with some old friends at KPMG."
