Health, social care & disability
Social & healthcare advice
The UK prides itself on a National Health Service and a welfare state that leads the world. Where it fails to meet the standards we rightly expect and social and healthcare levels fall short of what we’re entitled to, our public law team can help to establish a case and bring a challenge to the authorities.
We’re experts in health, social care & disability
Our experience in this field is varied and comprehensive. We act where patients have been refused life-saving treatment. Where disabled people have not been provided with appropriate health or social care services, and where elderly patients are challenging continujng care assessments. We have a distinguished portfolio of work and several test cases behind us, including challenges over the right to breast cancer treatment using Herceptin and cases about the capacity of adults with learning difficulties to marry.
We are regularly instructed by the Official Solicitor to the Supreme Court, a government appointed official, to look after the interests of adults without the capacity to make their own decisions on their social or healthcare provision, and regularly lead the way in acting for disabled clients. As such we’re on the solicitors’ panel of the Disability Rights Commission and recognised for our work representing clients with disabilities.
