Since qualifying as solicitor in 1994 Sion has gained a broad-based experience of various areas of Personal Injury including multi-party, medical negligence, road traffic, public liability and claims abroad. Sion also has a substantial amount of experience in representing members of all three Services and understands the sensitive issues that can arise when investigating these types of Armed Forces accidents.

He has dealt with a diverse range of claims against the MOD including injuries sustained both on and off duty. Sion has represented a number of injured service personnel and families of deceased service personnel.

He has pursued claims arising out of:

  • Aviation Accident involving Lynx, Gazelle and Puma helicopters;
  • Accidents involving armoured vehicles;
  • Training and Adventurous Training accidents;
  • Claims involving industrial diseases developed during the course of service;
  • Claims involving members of the Special Forces (on and off duty).

Sion has run a number of cases involving complex issues including Crown Immunity, Combat Immunity and issues relating to foreign jurisdictions. He has also dealt with claims arising out of the involvement of members of Visiting Forces and therefore has experience of dealing with issues relating to the State of Visiting Forces Agreement.

Sion is a Senior Litigator with APIL and is a Member of the APIL Military Special Interests Group.
