Richard joined Irwin Mitchell in 1995 as IT Manager and was rapidly promoted to IT Director and now Group IT & Operations Director and has held a position on the board since 1997.
The remit now covers IT, Corporate Governance, Call Centre, Facilities and Library disciplines. The 170+ people in this group are responsible for the delivery of both infrastructure and information content to a fast moving practice and associated IM companies. The Director post is significantly strategic and ensures the operational platform is aligned with the vision of the practice.
Graduating from Sheffield Hallam University in 1988 with honours in Electronic Systems and Control Engineering, I then became an Associate Member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE). Having completed a certified training contract at Davy Mckee in Sheffield, I progress to a full member of the institute and Charted Engineer status (C.Eng). In 2006, I became a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Chartered IT Professional (CITP).
Further post graduate academic achievements have been a MBA part 1 Post Graduate Certificate in Management studies. Richard has enjoyed strong press coverage in recent years through interesting and new approaches to technology deployment.
