Joined Irwin Mitchell in Birmingham in 1999 as a Solicitor within the International Travel Litigation Group. In November 2000 she was appointed as an Associate and headed up a team of lawyers dealing with claims arising out of accidents occurring in foreign jurisdictions. The claims typically consist of road traffic accidents, accidents at hotels, foreign employers liability and public liability claims and claims arising out of disasters abroad. Many of the cases that the team undertakes are high profile. Katherine is currently acting for a number of British clients who received implants of bone which was allegedly stolen from corpses in the US. The team has also dealt with claims arising from coach and bus crashes in a number of foreign locations, including the USA, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and is currently dealing with claims arising from the Bahrain boat tragedy.
