Qualified in Local Government with Islington Council in 1980 before joining London Borough of Waltham Forest. Progressed to be Deputy Borough Solicitor and Head of Litigation until moving to London Borough of Haringey in 1989 as Borough Solicitor and Head of Legal Services.
In 1994 appointed to be the Public Trustee and Accountant General of the Supreme Court, Chief Executive of the Public
Trust Office, and a General Commissioner for the National Debt.
Left in December 1999 to take up a position with Irwin Mitchell where she is now the Partner heading the London Court of Protection Department.
