John Hayes acts for a range of employers and entrepreneurs, particularly in the recruitment, construction, retail, leisure and professional services industries. He also acts for one large public sector organisation. He is a policy member of a leading national business organisation. He is a dual qualified solicitor and barrister and conducts his own advocacy, where possible.
He has many years of experience in obtaining injunctions for employers in restrictive covenant disputes; providing advice on re-structures (large and small); handling all aspects of discrimination law and assisting employers with difficult disciplinaries and grievances.
He is particularly expert in a-typical working arrangements such as consultancy agreements, agency workers and IR-35. He has provided training to other lawyers on IR35 and the new Construction Industry Scheme rules.
