I deal especially with drafting wills and trusts for both Trust and Probate and the Court of Protection departments, and with Inheritance Tax planning. I deal with obtaining grants of representation for clients and as a support service for other departments such as PI and Clinical Negligence. As a member of Julia Lomas’ team I deal with day to day matters on her local receiverships.

• Studied Old English at Lady Margaret Hall Oxford and on graduation trained as a solicitor.
• Admitted in 1974 having been articled at Linklaters and worked post qualification for Payne, Hicks Beach in Lincolns Inn.
• Upon returning to the Midlands, became partner in R S Bull and Co of Nuneaton and then moved in 1990 to Alsters Kelley in Leamington Spa
• Joined Irwin Mitchell in January 2006 as an Associate in the Private Client department.
  

• I am a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners), of SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly), and of the Law Society Probate Section.
• In the early 1990s I set up the Alsters (as it then was) quality system and was instrumental in their becoming one of the first few solicitors’ firms to be awarded the then quality standard BS 5750.
• I established Warwickshire Law Society’s very successful Training scheme, and was President of Warwickshire Law Society in 2003/4.
