Legal 500 2007 comments:

Alison Eddy heads a strong team at Irwin Mitchell, bulked out recently with the arrival of Muiris Lyons and Auriana Griffiths in April 2006 following the firm's merger with Alexander Harris. The firm wins plaudits for its commitment to handling claims of all sizes, irrespective of quantum, and the team's technical expertise remains of a high order. From a broad range of cases, standout matters in terms of quantum include a £1.2m wrongful birth settlement.

Chambers 2006 said of the London Clinical Negligence Team:

The national reach of this group impresses peers, who have deemed it "a leader in the field". It is staffed with practitioners who "take its cases and client service seriously, know what they are doing and get on with it". Obstetric cases are a key source of instructions, as are failure to diagnose cancer matters and neurological claims.

Practice head Alison Eddy is "so hardworking and dedicated to her cases." She has charmed Counsel and peers alike with her organisational abilities. Obstetrics, oncology and neurosurgery are her specialist areas, which also compliment her personal injury expertise. She has been particularly involved in claims brought on behalf of brain damaged babies and women physically and psychologically damaged by birth trauma.

Chambers 2006 said of the London Personal Injury Team:

Partners Colin Ettinger and Alison Eddy have established "a first-rate practice". Both handle high value maximum severity claims, with Alison Eddy specialising in neurotrauma cases in addition to her clinical negligence workload.
