Alida heads up the Birmingham work place injury disease team. Alida has developed the asbestos-related disease team and referral sources from a standing start and the team now receives referrals from a wide variety of sources based not only in the West Midlands area, but also receives referrals from Wales and as far South as Cornwall. The team currently has instructions on over 200 asbestos-related disease cases.
In the 12 months to February 2005 the team will have recovered in excess of £2m for the victims of asbestos-related disease and their families. Settlement awards secured on behalf of clients over the past 12 months range from £6,000 (provisional settlement) to £360,000 on behalf of the widow and estate of a man who died from mesothelioma to £2.6m (on behalf of a brain injured RTA victim).
