Group Set On By 'Pit Bull' Dog

Three men have been injured during an assaulted in a Liverpool park in which one man was set on by a pit bull-type dog.

The victims were beaten by a group of three men in what police have called an unprovoked attack before the offenders set their dog on one of the men.

A spokeswoman said: "A 20-year old man was walking with two friends when he was assaulted by three men in what appears to an unprovoked attack.

"The three men were all physically assaulted by the group, after the attack the men set their pit bull-type dog onto them.

"The 20-year-old man was bitten by the dog and he received a number of bites to his legs and body.

"Another of the males received a broken jaw, all the men received bite marks."

She said the dog is described as a pit bull-type which was white with brown markings on its ear.

The incident took place in Breckside Park, close to Townsend Lane and Lower Breck Road in Anfield.
